Dr. Karla Rothfus loves what she does, and she loves making her patients smile. She has been serving the Rogue Valley’s dental needs for over 21 years.
She truly enjoys raising her four children in Medford, Oregon and is happy she chose such a great community to be a part of.
Being in Southern Oregon means that you are part of something special! We have beautiful weather, countless outdoor activities, and friendly people.
These are just some of the very reasons the doctor and her family moved here. But one of the things she enjoys the most is seeing her happy smiling patients at ball games, skiing, or just buying groceries at the store.
Dr. Karla and her husband Randy both grew up in the same small town in Iowa. From there they attended Grandview College in Des Moines, and graduated with bachelor of general science degrees. After four more years they graduated from the University of Iowa Dental College in 1995. Being raised in Iowa, they were excited to live in Iowa City and support their favorite college team the “Hawkeyes”. The University of Iowa Dental College has continually been ranked as one of the Top 3 dental schools in the nation.
The couple also attended Mrs. Peck’s pre-school in Iowa in the early seventies… Not sure if it was ranked in the nation academically, but it was definitely where they received a good mid-west upbringing! Dr. Karla brought those morals and ethics of the Midwest with her to Oregon. This is important for her patients to know and she feels that it is one of her best assets. She will treat you, exactly how she would want to be treated.
Continuing education is an important part of Dr. Karla’s commitment to her patients. She seeks out the latest, most advanced philosophies and techniques to be able to provide her patients with the highest level of dental care available. She doesn’t just take the bare minimum continuing education classes to get her license renewed. She goes above and beyond! From fillings to root canals, extractions to dentures, you can feel confident that you are being treated at a level above the standard of care.

When you enter our office Kimi and Jessica are at the front to meet you with a warm smile and get you all checked in and make sure you are comfortable. They will make your follow up appointments, and also orchestrate payment from your dental benefits.
To keep your wait at a minimum, Lacey and Kayla, our dental assistants are quick to see you have arrived and will escort you to your own private dental treatment room. Their job is to make sure you are well cared for and comfortable during your dental procedure. They will ask you if you would like to try a warm paraffin hand bath, or would enjoy watching television with a set of noise cancellation headphones. If you need anything to make your stay more enjoyable, just ask!
